Technical Efficiency Analysis of Rice Farming Business in Different Varieties in Harau District

Abstrak

Harau District is the highest rice producer in Limapuluh Kota Regency with total production of 45.642,00 tonnes and productivity of 4.05tonnes/Ha with a harvest area of 11.296 Ha. Efficiency in using production factors in running a rice farming business must be known so that farmers can produce maximum production with minimal input. This research aims to determine the factors that influence the production of junjuang and banang pulau rice varieties, determine the level of technical efficiency achieved by junjuang and banang pulau rice farmers, and analyze the income earned by junjuang and banang pulau rice farmers. The research was carried out in Nagari Taram, Harau District, Limapuluh Kota Regency, West Sumatera Province from January to March 2024. The results showed that the production factors that influenced the junjuang rice variety were land area, seeds, and phonska fertilizer. Meanwhile, the banang pulau rice variety includes seeds, phonska fertilizer, and pesticides. The technical efficiency achieved by rice farmers of the junjuang variety reached 0.91, while for rice farmers of the banang pulau variety it reached 0.97. The income from rice farmers of the junjuang variety is IDR. 9,190,000.00 and the banang pulau rice farming business received a net profit/income of Rp. 6,178,129.26.
