The Role of Farmer Groups and Their Development Strategies in Efforts to Increase The Income of Padi Salibu Farms

Abstrak

Padi salibu is one of the technological innovations implemented in Nagari Tabek, Tanah Datar Regency. The farmer groups It is hoped that it will support the strengthening of the Cross Farming business in an effort to improve the farmer's economy. This research aims to analyze the role of farmer groups, to analyze farming businesses, to analyze the relationship between the role of farmer groups and farming income, and to formulate strategies for developing the padi salibu farming business. The research was carried out in Nagari Tabek, Pariangan District, Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatera Province, in January-February 2024. The method used was descriptive quantitative and SWOT, sampling was carried out by purposive sampling, the number of farmers interviewed was 40 sample. Determining the sample deliberately, where the researcher determined the sample based on the padi salibu variety. The research results show that 80,83% of the role of farmer groups is in the very good category, which means that their participation in farmer groups greatly influences the increase in income, where the farmer's income is Rp 21,938,878,85 /ha/musim tanam, there is a relationship between the role of farmer groups and farming income and the resulting strategic priority is the S-O strategy, where farmer groups continue to carry out the padi salibu farming business.
