The physiological quality of expired rice seeds decreases, especially seed vigor and viability. Invigoration using natural Plant Growth Regulators (PGR) is one way to increase the vigor and viability of expired rice seeds. The purpose of this study was to obtain effective natural PGR and soaking duration, as well as the interaction of the two treatments on the invigoration of expired rice seeds. This research was conducted from November 2023 to February 2024 at the Laboratory of UPT PSBTH Riau Province. This study used a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD), namely natural PGR materials (distilled water, gibberellin acid (GA3), shallot extract, young coconut water, bean sprout extract, and banana stem extract) and soaking time (2, 4, and 6 hours). The parameters observed were maximum growth potential, germination rate, growth uniformity, growth speed, and vigor index. The results showed that shallot extract and bean sprout extract were effective natural PGRs for invigoration of expired rice seeds. Soaking time of 6 hours is an effective soaking time for invigoration of expired rice seeds. There is the best interaction on the use of natural PGR shallot extract with 6 hours soaking time and bean sprout extract with 6 hours soaking time.
