KEMAMPUAN BEBERAPA GENOTIPE PADI (Oryza sativa L.) LOKAL KABUPATEN KUANTAN SINGINGI UNTUK MENEKAN PERKECAMBAHAN GULMA JAJAGOAN (Echinochloa cruss-galli (L.) Beauv)

Abstrak

Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is one of the national food crop commodities, whose availability continues to be sought.
One of the problems in rice cultivation is Echinochloa crus-galli L. (jajagoan) which can reduce the weight of grain
content by 46.2%. This study aims to determine the local rice genotype of Kuantan Singingi Regency which is able to
press the germination of jajagoan weeds. This research was carried out in the Agronomy and Agrostology laboratory of
the Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Science, State Islamic University of Sultan Syarif Kasim, from August to October
2019. The study used a non-factorial completely randomized design (CRD) with treatment of 11 local rice genotypes
Kuantan Singingi and 1 control weed, There were 4 replications so that 48 experimental units were obtained, for the
control unit it contained 10 weed seeds and the 11 rice genotype unit contained 10 weed seeds and 10 rice seeds. This
research uses shoot and root biological test, which is the stage of selecting rice that is able to compete against jajagoan
weeds. The variables observed in this study were shoot and root length, shoot and root wet weight, shoot and root dry
weight, shoot and root length inhibition percentage, shoot and root wet weight inhibition percentage, shoot and root
dry weight inhibition percentage. The results of this study concluded that local rice was able to press the germination of
jajagoan weeds. The best genotypes were puluik putiah, kuniang lontiok, kampik, kutiak putiah, gadang and putiah
gondok.
