The Correlation Between Maternal Characteristics Energy Intake and Macronutrient Intake with The Nutritional Status of Toddlers in The Working Area of Harapan Raya Public Health Center Pekanbaru City

Abstrak

Nutritional status is a condition that develops as a result of the balance between food intake and the amount of nutrients used for the body’s metabolism. Objective: The aim of this study was to analyze the correlation between maternal characteristics and food intake with the nutritional status of toddlers in the working area of Harapan Raya Public Health Center, Pekanbaru City. The research used a cross-sectional design. Sampling was carried out using a purposive sampling technique with a total of 68 toddlers. Data were analyzed using the Spearman-Rho test. Result: However, the results also showed no significant correlation between protein, fat, and carbohydrate intake and toddler nutritional status. In addition, there was no significant correlation between maternal education, employment status, or number of children and the nutritional status of toddlers (p > 0,05). The conclusion of this study that there was a significant correlation between energy intake and the nutritional status of toddlers in the working area of Harapan Raya Public Health Center, Pekanbaru City.
