The Corelation of Knowledge and Attitudes Regarding Complementary Breast Milk Food with The Practice of Providing Complementary Breast Milk Food at The Sidomulyo Rawat Inap Health Center

Abstrak

Complementary breast milk food is a breast milk snack that is introduced to babies over 6 months old. Complementary food for breast milk is a complement to giving breast milk to babies over 6 months old. The aim of the research was to determine the corelation between knowledge and attitudess regarding with the practice of providing complementary breast milk food at the Sidomulyo Rawat Inap Health Center. This research was conducted at the SidomulyoRawat Inap Health Center, Binawidya District, Pekanbaru City from June to July 2024. The research was carried out through an observational approach using a cross sectional design. The sampling technique in this research was using a purposive sampling technique with a sample size of 64 mothers who had babies aged 6-24 months. Data collection was carried out used questionnaires and interviews. Based on the univariate analysis, the mothers' knowledge was good in 30 people (46.9%), moderate in 15 people (23.4%), and poor in 19 people (29.7%). Meanwhile, the mothers' attitudes were positive in 38 people (59.4%) and negative in 26 people (40.6%). The practice of complementary milk food was good in 35 people (54.7%) and poor in 29 people (45.3%). Based on the results of data analysis used the Chi-Square test, it showed that there was a corelation between knowledge and the practice of giving complementary breast milk food  (p<0.05). The conclusion of this research was that there was a correlation between knowledge and attitudes about complementary breast milk food regarding complementary breast milk food and the practice of providing complementary breast milk food in the Sidomulyo Rawat Inap Health Center working area.
