Physical Quality of Complete Ration Silage Based on Agroindustry Waste and Odot Grass with Different Incubation Times and Additives

Abstrak

Tofu dregs, sago dregs, palm kernel meal, rice bran, and corn flour are alternative feed ingredients derived from biological food sources that are no longer used by humans. The duration of detention in this study was 14 and 28 days. The additives in this study are molasses, sugarcane water, and brown sugar. Silage is a method used to preserve and increase the nutritional content of animal feed ingredients. The purpose of this study is to find out the physical qualities such as aroma, the presence of fungi, color, and texture, of silage. This research has been carried out in February – March 2024 at SiCoboy Farm Batu Sangkar Ranch, Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatera Province and physical quality  tests  were  carried  out  at  the  Laboratory  of  Nutrition  and  Feed  Technology,  Faculty  of Agriculture and Animal Science Husbandry, State Islamic University Of Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau. This study was conducted experimentally with a Complete Random Design of factorial patterns with 2 replicates. Factor A is the duration of fermentation, namely A1 = 0 days, A2 = 14 days, and A3 = 28 days, factor B is the additives, namely B1 = molasses, B2 = sugarcane water, and B3 = brown sugar. The parameters observed are aroma, mold, color, and texture. The data obtained was analyzed based on variance analysis, if the treatment had a real effect, a 5% Duncan test was carried out. The results of this study show that the curing time and different additives can maintain the mold, color, and texture, as well as improve (P>0,05) the aroma of silage for the better. The conclusion of this study is that silage at 14 days of fermentation can increase the aroma of complete ration silage based on agroindustrial waste and odot grass to acid.
