Buffalo (Baballus buballis) is one of the large ruminants that have long been known by the people of Indonesia. Pangean sub-district is a sub-district that has a fairly large population of buffaloes, namely 876 heads. In general, the existing farms in Panngean District have not implemented technical aspects of maintenance and there are still many shortcomings that need to be addressed and repaired by farmers. This study aims to determine the application of technical aspects of maintenance including aspects of breeding, housing, feed, health and maintenance management in Pangean District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. The method used in this study is a survey method obtained by 151 farmers. The variables in the study were the respondent's profile, the nursery aspect, the housing aspect, the feed aspect, the health aspect and the maintenance management aspect. The results of this study indicate that the characteristics of the respondents consist of 79.47% male and 20.53% female, breeder age ranges from 32-68 years, 35.76% education completes high school, experience raising 1-13 years, and the main occupation is as a farmer 49.01%. Implementation of technical aspects of maintenance with the following percentages: nursery aspect 42.05%, housing aspect 58.68%, feed aspect 50.00%, health aspect 73.51%, and maintenance management aspect 59.93%. The conclusion of this study is that the overall technical aspects of buffalo livestock maintenance in Pangean District, Kuantan Simgimgi Regency, with a poor percentage of 56.83%.
