Abstrak

A food security program involving the provision of female cattle has been implemented in Sungai Lambu Makmur Village since 2021. This initiative aims to foster a sustainable economic cycle and enhance community welfare by distributing one female cattle acceptor per household. The program's effectiveness is largely dependent on the reproductive performance of the livestock. This study aimed to evaluate the reproductive performance of Simental cattle in Sungai Lambu Makmur Village, Tapung District, Kampar Regency, by analyzing Service per Conception (S/C), Post-partum Mating, Conception Rate, Calving Interval, and Body Condition Score. This survey study was conducted from February to April 2025, collecting census data from the entire population through farmer questionnaires (primary data) and Artificial Insemination recording cards from 2021–2024 (secondary data). The results indicate varying reproductive performance values over the period: S/C ranged from 1.13 to 1.38; CR from 70% to 86.66%; PPM from 71.86±14.505 to 93.54±9.136 days; and CI from 355.66±19.503 to 374.28±18.122 days. The average BCS of the population was 3.46±0.504. Correlation analysis revealed a very weak relationship between BCS and reproductive performance parameters (S/C: -0.02; CR: 0.13; PPM: -0.22; CI: 0.15). It is concluded that Simental cattle in Sungai Lambu Makmur Village exhibit normal reproductive performance and BCS values, but no significant relationship was observed between BCS and the measured reproductive performance indicators.
