Abstrak

Palm oil productivity in indonesia may decrease due to caterpillar attacks. Alternative environmentally friendly control
can be done by using vegetable pesticides, one of which is Ceiba Pentandra Grantleaf extract (EDKR). This study aims
to obtain the concentration of Ceiba Pentandra Grant leaf extract (Ceiba Pentandra Grant) which is effective in
controlling the S. nitens pest and to determine the value of lethal concentration 50. The study was conducted at the
Laboratory of Pathology, Entomology, Microbiology and Soil Science, Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry,
Sultan Islamic State University. Syarif Kasim Riau and the Laboratory of Natural and Mineral Materials Technology,
Faculty of Engineering, University of Riau from May to June 2021. S. nitens was given EDKR spraying treatment with
concentrations of 0%, 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25% arranged in RAL (Completely Randomized Design). The parameters
observed were the initial time of pest death, daily mortality, total mortality, lethal concentration 50, and decreased
feeding activity. The results of variance showed that the concentration of EDKR had a significant effect on all
observation parameters. Effective concentration against S. nitens. was a concentration of 25% EDKR with the initial
percentage of pest death 21.25 hours, daily mortality 95.23%, total mortality 100% and the percentage decrease in
feeding activity of S. Nitens 94%. The LC50 value of 7.28% EDKR is able to kill 50% of the total Setora nitens tested.
