UJI EFEKTIVITAS HERBISIDA ISOPROPILAMINA GLIFOSAT DAN METIL METSULFURON DALAM MENGENDALIKAN GULMA DI PERKEBUNAN KELAPA (Cocos nucifera L.)

Effectiveness Test of Herbicide Isopropylamine Gliphosate and Methyl Metsulfuron in Controlling Weeds in Coconut Plantations (Coconut nuceifera L.)

Abstrak

Chemical weed control by combining active ingredients aims to expand the control spectrum, inhibit weed resistance, reduce residues on plants and soil, and can reduce herbicide doses lower than herbicide doses applied separately. This study aims to obtain the dominant weed and effective doses of herbicides isopropylamine glyphosate and methyl metsulfuron, to determine the effectiveness between the use of a single active ingredient and a combination of active ingredients in controlling weeds and their effectiveness against coconut plants. This research will be carried out on community plantation land in Pinang Jaya Village, Pelangiran District, Indragiri Hilir Regency and the Laboratory of Pathology, Entomology, Microbiology and Soil Science, Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Science, Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau. This research was carried out from July to September 2024. The method used in the experimental study with a one-factor Group Random Design (RAK) consisting of 6 treatments and consisting of 4 groups, so that 24 experimental units were obtained. The parameters observed were weed vegetation structure, dry weight of weeds, and phytotoxicity to coconut. The dominant weed in coconut farming is Nephrolepis sp. with an SDR value of 46.42%. The administration of herbicides isopropylene glyphosate and methyl metsulfuron with a dose of glyphosate 0.3 ml/plot + metsulfuron 2 mg/plot has been effective in terms of cost and environment. In the treatment of the study, there was no toxicity or poisoning effect on the coconut plant.
