Quality of Crude Protein, Crude Fiber and Ether Extract of Complete Ration Wafer Based nn Different Sago Dregs Levels for Ruminant Ration

Sago dreg that is abundant and underutilized can pollute the environment.
Sago dreg can be processed into complete ration wafers to enhance nutritional
value, facilitate storage, and provide feed for Bali cattle. The objective of this study
was to determine the nutritional value in terms of crude protein, crude fiber, and
crude fat content of complete ration wafers based on sago dreg with various
addition levels of 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30%. The research method used was a
Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatment levels of sago dreg
addition and four replications for each treatment. Parameter used in this research
were P0 = complete ration wafers with 0% sago dreg, P1 = complete ration wafers
with 10% sago dreg, P2 = complete ration wafers with 20% sago dreg, P3 =
complete ration wafers with 30% sago dreg. The study parameters included crude
protein (%), crude fiber (%), ether extract (%). Data were analyzed using analysis
of variance (ANOVA) and further tested with Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT)
if significantly different. The results showed that the sago dreg level significantly
affected the crude protein and crude fiber content of the wafers (P< 0.01), with
crude protein decreasing and crude fiber increasing as sago dreg increased. Ether
extract content showed no significant difference among treatments. The conclusion
of the study is that complete ration wafers with 10% sago dreg provide the best
nutritional value with crude protein content of 8.58%, crude fiber of 18.91%, and
ether extract of 6.92%.
