Abstrak

Compost is an organic fertilizer derived from the fermentation of solid and liquid manure (urine) from livestock. Compost contains the macronutrients essential for plant growth, including nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K), as well as micronutrients such as calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), and sulfur (S). Fertilization is typically carried out in the soil by adding artificial fertilizers, green manure, and compost to enhance the physical, chemical, and biological properties of the soil. The use of compost can add nutrients and improve the physical and biological properties of the soil. Sambar deer (Cervus unicolor) manure is grouped into one group with the same texture as goat manure. The C/N ratio in goats is generally still above >30, while deer manure has a C/N ratio of >35. A combination of compost from deer and goat feces with the addition of effective microorganisms is expected to improve nutrients and increase soil fertility. The study found that EM4 at various concentrations positively affected the physical properties of compost derived from a combination of goat and sambar deer feces. All treatments showed changes in physical properties, ranging from a pungent odor to an earthy odor, from brown to blackish color, and from a smooth texture to a crumbly, earthy texture. Treatment with a higher EM4 concentration (P4) accelerated the odor removal process, color formation, cooked texture, and pH closer to neutral compared to the control (P0).
