Synergy of Beef Cattle Farming and Non-Livestock Sectors in Supporting Farmer Household Income) (Case Study in Bulotalangi Village, Bulango Timur District, Bone Bolango Regency

Abstrak

This study aims to analyze the role of beef cattle farming and non-livestock sectors in supporting the income of farming households in Bulotalangi Village, Bulango Timur District, Bone Bolango Regency. The research employed a survey method with census sampling involving 67 cattle farmers. The results indicated that the average total household income reached IDR 46,105,970 per year. Cattle farming contributes significantly to household income, accounting for 37% (IDR 17,089,552). However, non-livestock activities, such as laborers, drivers, and traders, account for a larger portion (53% or IDR 24,716,418), supplemented by other livestock businesses (9%). The synergy between cattle farming and non-livestock sectors demonstrates a critical strategy in diversifying income sources, thereby improving household financial stability. The study concludes that this integration is essential for the economic sustainability of farming households, where cattle farming serves as family savings supplementing daily income from non-agrarian work.
