Utilization of Banana Peel and Stem as Liquid Organic Fertilizer on The Growth and Productivity of Curly Chili (Capsicum annuum L.)

Abstrak

Curly chili (Capsicum annuum L.) is a type of horticultural plant that is often cultivated by the community because it has high economic value and quite complete nutritional content such as protein, fat, carbohydrates, vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin C and minerals. However, curly chili production in Manggarai is very fluctuating, this is caused by inappropriate curly chili cultivation techniques, namely fertilization. Efforts that can be made to increase curly chili production are by using liquid organic fertilizer from banana peels and banana stems. This research was carried out from March to July 2023 in Bangka Leda Village, Manggarai Regency. The aim of this research was to determine the effect and best dose of giving banana peel and banana stem POC on the production of curly red chili plants. This research used a one-factor Randomized Block Design consisting of 6 treatments and 3 replications with treatment levels, namely: (0 ml, 100 ml, 200 ml, 300 ml, 400 ml, 500 ml) POC of banana peel and banana stem. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued with the BNJ test at 5% level. The research results showed that the application of banana and banana peel POC had a significant effect on the growth and yield of curly chili plants. A dose of 500 ml is the best dose that can support the production of curly red chili plants.
