This study aimed to determine the effect of butterfly pea flower infusion (Clitoria ternatea L.) in drinking water on the performance of quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica) during the pre-production period. The butterfly pea flower infusion was obtained by mixing 1 kg of dried flowers with 4 L of water at 90°C. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 6 replications. Each replication consisted of 4 one-week-old quail with an initial weight of 15.53±1.36 g per bird. The butterfly pea flower infusion treatments included P0 (drinking water without butterfly pea flower infusion), P1 (drinking water + 0.1% infusion), P2 (drinking water + 0.2% infusion), and P3 (drinking water + 0.3% infusion). The observed variables included feed intake, water intake, body weight gain, feed conversion, and first laying age. The results showed that the administration of butterfly pea flower infusion had no effect (P>0.05) on all quail performance variables during the pre-production period. However, numerically, the best weight gain was found in quail given 0.2% butterfly pea flower infusion. It can be concluded that the administration of butterfly pea flower infusion in drinking water has no negatively affect to quail performance, so it can be used as an alternative natural additive in drinking water.
