The purpose of this research was determines the land equivalent ratio of intercropping Indigofera zollingeriana and Pennisetum purpureum underneath coconut plantation based on potential production. This experiment was conducted using Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The treatment consisted six combination of planting space, Indigofera zollingeriana with planting space (1) 1.0x1.0m, (2) 1.0x1.25m, and Pennisetum purpureum with planting space (1) 1.0x0.75m, (2) 1.0x1.0m. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance and HSD test. The variables measured were potential production and Land Equivalent Ratio (LER) based on potential production. The results showed that different planting space were significant different (P<0.01) on potential production and LER. The HSD test showed that intercropping Indigofera zollingeriana with planting space 1.0m x 1.25m and Pennisetum purpureum with planting space 1.0m x 1.0m have highest for potential production and intercropping Indigofera zollingeriana with planting space 1.0m x 1.25m and Pennisetum purpureum with planting space 1.0m x 1.0m have highest land equivalent ratio. It was concluded that the combination of indigofera planting distance of 1m x 1.25m and pennisetum 1m x 1.0m was the highest for potential production and land efficiency.
