Beef and buffalo meat consumption in Indonesia is expected to rise to 2.57 kg/capita/year in 2024, up 5.40% from 2.44 kg/capita in 2023. The demand for beef can be supplied if the national cattle population is sufficient. If there is enough forage, the population of beef cattle can be increased. Utilization of plantation land is an option for producing green feed. To assist the growth of beef cattle areas based on oil palm plantations in Riau Province, policies must be developed that can satisfy the interests of all parties. The method is a literature review, and the results are presented descriptively, with a focus on various strategies for developing cattle regions on oil palm land in Riau province. The involvement of multiple stakeholders in the form of support, interest, and commitment from plantation owners, in particular oil palm corporations, is critical to Riau Province's success as a beef cattle development area with an oil palm-cattle integration model. As a result, a government push is required to encourage oil palm plantation companies to implement mandatory oil palm-cattle integration.Unduhan
